LOCAL AREA around Glenshian
Glenshian is ideally situated for touring the western highlands. Within a short drive you can visit Ardnamurchan, Glencoe, Oban, Mallaig, Loch Ness, Mull and Skye. The area takes in rugged and wild highland landscapes as well as soft white sandy beaches. The area includes some of Scotland's finest mountain scenery. There are many gardens and historic sites to visit in the area. You can enjoy one of the world's most scenic rail journeys from Fort William to Mallaig. Fort William has good local amenities. There is also a local food and craft trail. In an around Fort William there are a number of good pubs and restaurants so you can sample local specialities.

The area is known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK. Activities include walking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, pony trekking, golf, fishing, angling, go-karting, quad biking, off-road guided tours and a wide range of water sports. You can also enjoy boat trips and tours to see the local marine and wild life.
During the winter months there are great facilities for the skier, snowboarder, winter climber and walker. Nevis Range, on Aonach Mor, with its unique gondola system is only 6 miles away.
